CPAConnect Advisory Committee

The CPAConnect Advisory Committee sets the goals and guides the activities of the CPAConnect network. It consists of a combination of longtime and newer CPAConnect members, plus representatives from firms of different sizes, who provide feedback from the entire membership to the executive office representative.

Executive Office Team

The executive office team at CPAmerica is made up of dedicated professionals who are led by CPAmerica's management group, the Lead Team. The Lead Team is responsible for directing the creation, development and implementation of all CPAmerica-approved services, programs and products.

Douglas H. Thompson, Jr.
President and CEO, CPAmerica International and CPAConnect
CEO, CPA Mutual Insurance Co.

In 1982, Douglas H. Thompson, Jr., CPA, was named president and CEO of the accounting association that would become CPAmerica International. Under his leadership, CPAmerica has grown from a small group of CPA firms looking for direction to one of the largest networks of independent CPA firms in the world.

When Thompson took over the reins of the association in 1982, it included 17 CPA firms with gross firm revenues of $17 million. The network today, in alliance with Horwath International, includes more than 650 offices around the world with global firm revenues exceeding $2 billion.

Kathy McDonald
Executive Vice President

Executive vice president Kathy McDonald is responsible for planning and supervising daily operations at CPAmerica. She provides oversight for conferences, committees, training, member development, member services, review programs and all other CPAmerica and CPAConnect programs and services. She also assists the president with entrepreneurial association matters.

Ms. McDonald holds a master's degree in communication and graduated with highest honors from Michigan State University. Prior to joining CPAmerica in 1986, she served as curriculum developer and instructor with the University of Illinois Police Training Institute and as director for victimless crime research with the State of Michigan Governor's Office. She also taught high school English, communication and debate.

Suzanne M. Csik
Marketing Consultant

Suzanne Csik has been CPAmerica's full-time marketing consultant since 1994. Based in Montreal, Canada, she travels between CPAmerica's Florida headquarters and member firms around the country. She provides firms with strategic marketing consultations on a remote and on-site basis. A frequent writer and lecturer on marketing topics, she also gives marketing assistance to CPAConnect and Horwath International firms.

Ms. Csik is a graduate of Montreal's Concordia University, is bilingual and holds a B.A. degree in urban planning as well as a certificate in accounting. Prior to joining CPAmerica, she worked for a Montreal accounting firm, providing marketing direction to 30 partners. She later served for six years as director of marketing and public relations with Ernst & Young in Montreal.

Judy Moore
Publications Director

As publications director, Judy Moore heads CPAmerica's creative team of editors and graphic designers who produce 15 national newsletters, more than 50 brochures, national advertising campaigns, seminars, online publications and a variety of directories, catalogs and other client and member publications for CPAmerica and CPAConnect.

Before joining CPAmerica in 1993, Ms. Moore worked for several years as a newspaper business editor, feature writer, college journalism instructor and publications manager. A former tennis professional, she was also a longtime tennis writer for newspapers and magazines. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Florida State University and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Florida.
