A message from the new Chief Executive Officer, David Mellor
As my first week (April 2, 2018) as Global CEO gets underway I continue to be incredibly humbled and honoured to have been selected to lead this great network of firms that shares our core values: to care, share, invest and grow.
Over the past few months, I have had the pleasure to meet members at network gatherings. Attending the CPAmerica International meeting in Atlanta, the Asia Pacific managing partners’ meeting in Singapore, the Nordic partners’ meeting in Helsinki, the Middle East and Africa partners’ meeting in Dubai, the CEE/SEE partners’ meeting in Budapest and the GCA meeting in Stuttgart, has been incredibly informative and given me insight into the innovative work taking place across our firms.
During my travels, I also managed to visit several member firms’ offices including those in Singapore, Dubai, New York, Budapest, Beijing and Tokyo. It has been exciting to meet enthusiastic teams of people across the world committed to living and breathing our brand identity in their daily work.
I was also able to help member firms with important business on these trips: Along with Chuck, Kevin, KH, and Yuen Lok, I met with the Ministry of Finance and CICPA with both Mr. Yang and Mr. Liu from Ruihua in Beijing. We shared our successes over the past five years including the China Desk and Hub initiative, plans for a smooth transition of CEO and our vision of the future of the profession.
In Dubai and Tokyo, I joined member firms to learn about our brand refresh, new website, and the work that is needed to prepare us all. On behalf of our members, I want to thank the work of the Global Marketing Strategy Committee and the work of Veronica, Lynda, Ann, and their teams, to make sure we are prepared for the changes ahead.
For those of you unable to join last year’s global conference, you will not have seen an interview of me by Kevin. I would like to share this with you along with our ‘Momentum’ video, which celebrates the network’s achievements over the past five years.
I look forward to strengthening our relationships as I embark on my new role, and to seeing many of you at the regional meetings where I will share the initial thinking of the strategic planning task force.
