Frazier & Deeter Recognized as a Top CPA firm for Women 5th Year in a Row

ATLANTA (PRWEB) June 12, 2018
Frazier & Deeter, a nationally ranked top 60 CPA and advisory firm, was named one of the 2018 Best Accounting Firms for Leadership Equity by the Accounting MOVE Project.

The MOVE Project is cosponsored by the American Society of Women Accountants and the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants and is produced in conjunction with research partner Wilson-Taylor Associates, Inc.

“Frazier & Deeter has a long history of supporting our professionals by offering training, mentoring and flexibility. These aspects of our culture have made our firm a place where both women and men thrive,” noted Seth McDaniel, Managing Partner of Frazier & Deeter.

Among the firm’s top leadership, the Partners in Charge of three of the four service lines are female. Terri Lawson, who began her career at Frazier & Deeter, is the Partner in Charge of Tax, and Sabrina Serafin, who began her career with Deloitte, is the Partner in Charge of Process, Risk & Governance. Jacqueline Boggs is the Partner in Charge of the firm’s outsourced Fund Administration service, FD Fund Administration.

“Frazier & Deeter was well ahead of its time in offering flexibility that enables women to continue their career during the challenging years of raising children,” noted Terri Lawson, Partner in Charge of Tax. Lawson, who is the mother of triplets, worked part time for many years while her children were young.

The firm supports female leadership both internally and externally through the multi-faceted Women’s Business Leadership Initiative.

In 2009, Frazier & Deeter introduced the Women’s Business Leadership Initiative to support female executives and business owners as they pursue their business and professional goals. Since its introduction, the initiative has offered educational programming for women seeking to launch a business, grow an existing business or enhance their leadership skills.

“As a firm with a strong percentage of female leaders, we feel it is important to support women business leaders in the markets that we serve,” said Adelle Starr Erdman, Executive Director and leader of the firm’s national women’s program. “Helping women business owners tap into an ecosystem that can accelerate the growth of their business just makes sense as a way to drive economic growth."

The Accounting MOVE Project evaluates CPA firms across the U.S. based on the percentage of women in leadership roles of various levels. The MOVE methodology indexes the proportion of women in the leadership pipeline to the proportion of women employees.

The 2018 Accounting MOVE Project found that women comprise 25% of the management committees at participating firms—a huge advance from the 19% reported in the 2014 report. Still, progress is incremental overall, with women remaining at 24% of partners and principals at CPA firms.

About the Accounting MOVE Project
Since 2010, the Accounting MOVE Project has measured and supported the advancement of women at accounting and consulting firms. MOVE is the only annual benchmarking project that both counts and advocates for women in the profession. The MOVE Project advisory board includes leaders from association partner the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance; founding sponsor Moss Adams; and national sponsor CohnReznick. MOVE is made possible by support from its sponsors and by administrative fees paid by participating firms. Firms receive benchmarking reports based on the MOVE Project. 2018 Accounting MOVE results are based on surveys and interviews with 45 participating firms that consist of 31,533 employees, conducted from November 2017 to March 2018.
