Clay Huffman of Frazier & Deeter elected Chairman of the Georgia State Board of Accountancy
Atlanta, GA – January 8, 2019 - Clay Huffman, a Senior Manager at Frazier & Deeter, has been elected by the members of the Georgia State Board of Accountancy (GSBA), as the new Chairman of the GSBA. Huffman was appointed to the GSBA in October 2016 by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal. Huffman previously served as the Vice Chair for the GSBA.
“Clay Huffman has demonstrated exceptional leadership within Frazier & Deeter, the community, and the accounting industry,” said Seth McDaniel, Managing Partner of Frazier & Deeter. “We are delighted to see Clay take on this important role.”
Huffman started practicing public accounting in 2007 with a Big 4 firm, after receiving his BBA and MAcc from the University of Georgia. In 2012 he joined the audit practice of Frazier & Deeter, where he focuses on clients in manufacturing, distribution, construction, aviation and professional services.
Huffman was recently selected by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to the CPA Evolution Working Group, a group tasked with evaluating possible changes to the CPA licensing criteria.

Huffman is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) and the AICPA. He serves as a member of the GSCPA’s Leadership Council and Nominating Chair of the University of Georgia Terry College of Business’ Young Alumni Board. He has served the GSCPA in many roles including the Young CPAs Advisory Council, New CPA Exam Task Force and A&A Conference Planning Committee.
