DMJ Announces Accounting Firm Professional Promotions

GREENSBORO, NC – DMJ & Co., PLLC (DMJ), a Top 300 CPA and accounting firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of the following accounting firm professionals in the firm’s Greensboro, North Carolina office:  

Jess Bankhead, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant. Jess joined DMJ in June 2018 and has several years of public accounting experience working directly on individual, corporate, partnership, and trust taxation. In addition, Jess is experienced in a variety of industries and has worked with multiple states. Prior to joining DMJ, Jess worked for a mid-sized public accounting firm in Boone, North Carolina, as a tax accountant. Jess earned a B.S.B.A. and M.S. in Accounting from Appalachian State University.

Derrick Greene, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant. Derrick joined DMJ in 2018 and has over nine years of accounting experience. Derrick earned his B.S. and MAcc in Accounting from UNC-Charlotte. 

Mason Barringer, CPA, has been promoted to Manager. Mason joined the firm in 2014 and is primarily responsible for preparing basic individual and/or corporate tax returns, preparing financial statements, performing components of audits, and general accounting duties. Mason earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He currently serves as a selected member of the NCACPA’s Young CPA Cabinet.

Bill Jones, CPA, has been promoted to Manager. Bill joined DMJ in 2000 and specializes in DMJ’s Employment Benefit Plan Services, including administration and government reporting for a variety of plans, in addition to performing ERISA audits of the plan’s financial statements. In addition, Bill focuses on nonprofit organizations and 990 preparation. He also has experience with individual and corporate tax. Bill earned a B.S. in Finance from Florida Southern College and a B.A. in Accounting from Guilford College.

David Mize, CPA, has been promoted to Manager. David joined DMJ in 2016 and has more than eight years of experience in public accounting. David’s work extends to partnerships, corporations, and individuals; and he is also responsible for tax preparation, tax research, tax audit, general accounting, and related consulting services. David is well versed in flow-through taxation, with specific expertise in real estate partnerships. David earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Baltimore.  

In addition, the following professional has been promoted in DMJ’s Durham, North Carolina office:  

Jeremy Tomlinson, CPA, has been promoted to Supervisor. Jeremy joined DMJ in January 2019 and has experience in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation. He earned a B.S. in Economics and an M.A. in Accounting from East Carolina University.  

Lastly, the following professional has been promoted in DMJ’s Wilmington, North Carolina office:  

Jason King, CPA, has been promoted to Manager. Jason joined DMJ in 2011 and has over eight years of experience in public accounting. He has experience with audits, reviews, and other attestation engagements under GAAP, as well as reviews and other attest engagements under IFRS. In addition, Jason works with audit and accounting clients in the manufacturing, construction, pharmaceutical, and retail industries, as well as nonprofits. Jason is also well versed in individual and business taxation and related planning, including choice of entity. Jason earned a B.B.A and M.B.A. in Accounting from Campbell University.
