Audit Partner Sean Lager joins prestigious FinREC committee

The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has appointed Sean Lager, an audit partner at Frazier & Deeter, as a member of the AICPA’s Financial Reporting Executive Committee (FinREC). Lager is one of the lead technical accounting partners in Frazier & Deeter’s Assurance Practice.

“Sean Lager’s years of service on technical accounting committees make him an excellent addition to the Financial Reporting Executive Committee,” said Seth McDaniel, Managing Partner of Frazier & Deeter. “As a partner who works with some of Frazier & Deeter’s most complex clients, Sean understands the challenges that sometimes arise in interpreting and implementing new accounting guidance.”

Lager is formerly the vice chairman of the AICPA’s Technical Issues Committee. In addition, he was appointed by his peers in the global profession to serve on IFAC’s Transnational Auditors Committee. Lager previously served as a member of the AICPA committee to establish training and IFRS certification and as Chair of PKF’s International Professional Standards Committee (IPSC).

As a member of FinREC, Lager will assist in determining the Institute’s technical policies regarding financial reporting standards and to be the Institute’s spokes-body on those matters, with the ultimate purpose of serving the public interest by improving financial reporting.
