Pete Oettinger of Wegner CPAs Strengthens International Ties with Germany

Madison, WI – Wegner CPAs is pleased to announce our partner, Pete Oettinger, will be traveling to Germany this October to educate local college students on U.S. Tax Law and continue to make progress for an international internship program.

Pete Oettinger, head of our German Companies niche, has been working closely with Dr. Timothy Kautz, professor at Hochschule Mainz in Germany, to create an opportunity for German accounting students to travel to the United States and complete their international accounting internship. An international internship is essential in Germany to graduate with an accounting degree and the hope to complete this requirement in the United States is very slim. Thanks to this program, six accounting students will travel to the U.S. for six weeks in the summer of 2019 and be placed in CPAmerica firms across the country.

As a member of GGI, CPAmerica, and a partner with Crowe Peak, Wegner CPAs values the opportunity to host international exchanges. While in Germany, Pete will teach four of Professor Kautz’s classes, speak at a tax conference in regards to the U.S. Tax Reform, and interview potential candidates for the international summer exchange program.
