CPAmerica Announces Ernie Gelpi as Chair, Appoints Two New Members to Board of Directors

Gainesville, Fla. (December 6, 2019) – Ernie Gelpi, leading partner of Kushner LaGraize, L.L.C. is the new chair of the board of CPAmerica, Inc., an accounting association of independent certified public accounting firms. He succeeds Sharon Thompson, leading shareholder and leading  of Hughes, Snell & Co., P.A.

The new board will have its first meeting of the year at CPAmerica headquarters on Jan. 21 to discuss 2020 initiatives and other long-term goals.

“Our firm has enjoyed being a member of CPAmerica since 2008,” said Ernie Gelpi, chair of the board. “We have improved client service, staff retention and firm profitability in large part due to the member sharing we’ve gained at CPAmerica’s events, staff training, sharing calls and discussion lists. As chair I look forward to helping the association continue to grow and expand services to its members.”

Greg Hammonds, leading partner of Whaley Hammonds Tomasello Accountants & Advisors, located in McDonough, Ga., has been elected to the vice chair/chair-elect position.

“Last year proved to be a great year of growth and I'm looking forward to what this board will bring to the membership in 2020,” said Alan Deichler, president of CPAmerica. “As a member-driven association, the board represents the membership within CPAmerica.”

Among the nine elected board members, returning board members include: James Barrett of Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C.; Dane Floyd of Aldridge Borden & Company; Ernie Gelpi of Kushner LaGraize, L.L.C.; Gregory Hammonds of Whaley Hammonds Tomasello Accountants & Advisors; Brian Malthouse of VonLehman & Company, Inc.; Frank Monaco of 415 Group; and Sharon Thompson of Hughes, Snell & Co., P.A..

The two newly-elected board members include Jackie Cardello of GRF CPAs & Advisors, and Greg Denning of Larson & Company, PC.
