Surgent CPA Review Course Winners

Iqra Majid, Staff Accountant Mathieson, Moyski, Austin & Co., LLP

“While we are deep in our pages figuring out how to compute certain sheets and documents, we also keep in mind the client and how to help them. This has really inspired me to go beyond my current knowledge of accounting,” said Iqra.

Karen Meyers, Accountant

Stoy, Malone & Company, P.C.

“In my eyes helping improve someone’s life is more important than any one specific accounting task I may have done over the years. Knowing that my role as an accounting mentor during those years may have improved someone’s career path and the helped the accounting industry in a small way is very rewarding,” said Karen.

Kayla Rogers, Accounting Advisor VonLehman CPA & Advisory Firm

“I find it to be very rewarding to be able to use my skillset to help people maintain and grow the businesses they worked so hard to establish," said Kayla.

Surgent Diagnostic Testing Winners

Anthony Jackson, Staff Accountant

Coulter & Justus, P.C.

“I have found that the most rewarding part of my accounting experience so far is that there is so much to learn within the accounting umbrella. I have learned about sales and use taxes working for the Department of Revenue, and I spent this summer learning about benefit plans," said Anthony.

Alexis Jordan, Tax Supervisor

Frazier & Deeter, LLC

“This experience with one client has taught me that not only does a CPA “crunch numbers” and prepare tax returns, but they are able to have a significant impact on each client they serve. This impact includes helping with their estate planning, like the client listed above, answering general bookkeeping questions or even being their “financial advice” shoulder to lean on," said Alexis.
